Welcome Filipino Chinese School Visiting Group to Tunghai University

To promote education advancement in Taiwan, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) organized a trip for the Filipino Chinese schools to visit Tunghai University on December 21. The visiting group was led by Mrs. Ting Ting Huang from the Grace Christian College. Tunghai’s welcoming team included Pastor Wayne Lee, Dean Hong Wei Yen of the Office of International Education and Programs, Assistant Professor Qiu-Gui Lai and colleagues from the Chinese Language Center, and Tunghai overseas student representatives.
The Tunghai campus was filled with Christmas spirit in December. Before the official meeting, the visitors were guided to tour around the beautiful campus and visit the Luce Chapel.

Dean Yen of the Office of International Education and Programs welcomed the visitation of the Filipino Chinese schools, and thanked the considerate planning of the OCAC. He then briefed the guests on Tunghai’s educational environment, departments, admissions, and overseas student activities. Pastor Lee encouraged the visiting teachers to deliver these education advancement information in the Philippines after getting to know Tunghai’s educational purposes and visions.

On the other hand, beloved teacher Lai introduced the position of Tunghai’s Chinese Language Center (CLC) in assisting overseas students’ adaptation to Taiwan. Besides sharpening students’ Chinese proficiency, the CLC also regularly organizes inspiring cultural experience activities. The diversity of courses has won reputation among international students. To this, the visiting teachers from the Chinese education organizations all showed admiration. To demonstrate Tunghai’s educational performances, several Malaysian students shared their experiences studying in Tunghai as references for future visitation of the teachers and their students.
