A group of 40 from Toyama Shogyo High School, Toyama City, Japan visited Tunghai University under the lead of Ms. Nobata Tomomi on December 6th. Dr. Wendy Wan of the Department of International Business, Director Chih-Yun Wu of International Student Affairs of the Office of International Education and Programs, along with OIEP staff and student volunteers represented Tunghai University to welcome them. Besides introducing Tunghai’s international education and exchange programs, Director Wu also shared the experiences of having interactions with Japan’s high school representatives during their overseas study programs held in March and August. Dr. Wan introduced the International Business Department’s courses and characteristics. Teachers and students from Japan were all impressed by Tunghai’s work in international education and study programs.

Additionally, students from the College of Arts, College of Management, and Japanese students in Tunghai led the visiting guests for a campus tour. During the tour, they visited Director James Sims of the International College. Through his friendly introduction, the visitors were able to further understand Tunghai’s all-English program.
By the event, Tunghai students were able to practice their Japanese and enhance Japanese students’ knowledge of Tunghai campus and environment. While promoting for more cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan, we hope these Japanese high school students will be encouraged to enroll in Tunghai University for their future studies.
