Tunghai University held a campus hiking activity on November 2nd to celebrate its 66th anniversary in lieu of the annual sports meeting.
Tunghai University is proud of having a sustainable green campus, which is extremely comfortable for an autumn hike. The 66th anniversary hike app recorded each user’s hiking mileage from November 2nd to noon Nov. 3rd. Designated check-points such as Tunghai Lake, the university library, and Luce Chapel and designated activities, such as selfies and interactive games were included in the record. The top 100 male and female participants achieving the highest mileage were reach given a 66th anniversary commemorative T-shirt.
Tunghai University President Mao-Jiun Wang, who headed the organization committee of the event, said that the annual anniversary sports meeting is re-designed as a hiking event due to the epidemic prevention consideration. It nonetheless kept the spirit of mental relaxation and physical health through exercise.
The Department of Physical Education Director Jing-Tang Chang said that the three check-points for selfies were carefully picked out of many famous photo spots on campus. These are landmarks of Tunghai and were highly recommended to the Freshmen year students, who were introduced to the Tunghai signature landmarks through the hiking event.
A music festival was held around Luce Chapel in the evening of November 2nd, with performances of Chian-Yang Wind Instrument Club, Chun-Yin Ocarina Club, Hyacinth Folklore Guitar Club, Pop Music Club, Pop Singing Club, to bring a vibrant ending to the celebration.
