To echo the M.O.E. University Social Responsibility Project, Global Visions Monthly hosted the 1st USR Award. The result came out yesterday (4/28, 2020). Tunghai University’s deep-plow/in-depth USR Project—Cooperation between Youth and Age for a Better Life while Growing Old: Establishing a Quality Support System for the Old Age in Xitun District, Taichung—has won the 1st prize in the “Living and Prospering Together” category.
President Mao-Jiun Wang indicated that this honor was the third this year, preceded by Times Impact Rankings, in which THU was placed the 3rd among all the universities in Taiwan (top among all private universities) and the 1st place in CommonWealth Magazine’s USR survey.
President Mao-Jiun Wang indicated that THU has been taking the sustainability of“society, economy, culture, and ecology” as a priority; the honor is a significant pat-on-the-shoulder and great encouragement to THU. The comment from the judges revealed that THU’s USR Project—led by THU’s Vice-President (Chia-Chang Chan), is holistic, well-rounded, and integrating, which is outstandingly different from other single-ended projects in the competition.
