Tunghai Esports Champion Awarded by Blizzard Entertainment Inc.

Tunghai philosophy student Mr. Chun-Yen Lai and electrical engineering student Mr. Cherng-Han Hsieh won the champion and third runner-up with their skillful fighting in the «Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft » in 2015 Blizzard Collegiate Esports League. The organizer Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. granted USD 3,000 to Tunghai University to serve as sports development fund.
On December 9th, Mr. Eddy Meng, Managing Director of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau and Mr. Jui-Wen Wang, Esport & Social Network Manager of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. represented the company to grant the funding and a championship flag to THU representative President (Proxy) Dr. Cheng-Tung Lin in the monthly university management meeting. The two students also received memorial trophies presented by THU from Dr. Lin.
Dr. Lin indicated that by participating in the cheering team in final round of competition, he has realized the burgeoning development of esport industry. It is definitely part of the industrial trend that involves technology and culture developments. Dr. Lin recognized the students for the courage in taking part of the competition and congratulated them for the achievement.
