“Tunghai Cat” Performed at Chung Yuan Christian University

Invited by Chung Yuan Christian University, Tunghai University Cross-discipline Digital Interaction Music Troupe gave a successful performance on December 1st at its Music Hall.
“Tunghai Cat” is one of the successful cross-disciplinary learning achievements at THU. Led by Dean of College of Fine Arts and Creative Design Prof. Shiwei Lo, over 100 THU faculty and students were involved in the performance. Before the performance, a huge crowd in front of the music hall brought the campus of Chung Yuan Christian University a different atmosphere from its usual quiet evenings. Faculty and students from the University as well as many audiences off campus with their families came to watch the performance of THU students.
Since 20013, the Tunghai Music Troupe has presented four musical plays, all of which enjoyed overwhelming compliments. One special feature of these plays, besides being designed and rehearsed by our cross-discipline students, is the combination of the course of “Recycle Art” - the costumes and stage properties are made of recycled garbage. Addition of digital animation and interaction effects also made the performances extremely popular.
Through these performances, awareness and promotion of environmental protection were brought to the attention of its audiences.
