Tunghai University receives Visitors from Indonesian Ministry of Education and POLBAN

On April 8th, a delegation from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (RISTEK DIKTI) of the Republic of Indonesia visited Tunghai University accompanied by Officer Mr. Peters Chen from the Ministry of Education. The delegation members included DIKTI Chief Consultant Dr. Hari Purwanto, Secretary General Dr. Agus Indarjo, and Director Dr. Rachmad Imbang Tritjahjono of Bandung State Polytechnic (POLBAN).
Tunghai University was represented by President Mao-Jiun Wang, Vice Dean Ying-Chyi Chou of the Academic Affairs Office, Dean Li-Chih Wang of Office of R&D, Dean Ding-Yah Yang of the College of Science, Dean I-Kuan Yang of the College of Engineering, Dean Hong-Wei Yen of the Office of International Education and Programs, Director Chung-Hsin Jwo of the Digital Innovation Master Degree Program, and Indonesian students currently studying at Tunghai. President Wang welcomed the old friends whom he met during the Taiwan-Indonesia Higher Education Forum that was held in Bandung last October, saying that it is an honor of Tunghai to receive such high-level visitors from Indonesia. Dr. Hari was the official representative of Indonesian Ministry of Education in the forum last year, while Dr. Imbang from POLBAN was the host for the event. The three guests were much impressed by Tunghai’s campus as well as its educational environment.
During the meeting, Dean Yen of the OIEP introduced Tunghai’s educational features and the Taiwan Education Center in Indonesia, followed by Dean Li-Chih Wang of the Office of R&D briefing about Tunghai’s innovation education. The hosts and the guests exchanged ideas and suggestions regarding these areas. To gain a deeper understanding towards Tunghai’s academic resources, they visited the Digital Innovation Workshop as part of the campus tour, with Director Chung-Hsin Jwo introducing the program in greater details. The visiting delegation showed interests and acknowledgement towards the program.
Besides the academic exchange, to provide the guests with deeper knowledge about Taiwan’s industry, Tunghai specially invited Engineering Vice President Bird Du and Deputy Division Chief Ru-Wei Xia of Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation to join the meeting. The exchange of observations and prospects of the industry was informative and impressive to the guests. The visitors hoped to strengthen the bond between Taiwan and Indonesia through this opportunity and to open up possibilities for more collaboration in the future.
