Such an achievement owes to outstanding teachers, well-designed curricula, and superior education. With architecture design as the core of the department’s educational training, the students are trained 12 hours a week for five straight years. This cultivates students’ ability of independent thinking and their creative spirits, which would be applied to their overall performance in architecture and space aesthetics. Adding in the variety of humanity courses and small-size classes, the trainings of critical thinking and accumulation of sense of humanities and arts exceed the fields of pure engineering and spatial techniques. It allows students to express their own thoughts and insights regarding social issues and living environments, which then makes them true architects that lead the development of the society.
In recent years, Tunghai Architecture Department has been actively promoting the internationalization of education. Through programs like international exchange, faculty-led study abroad, international internships, international forums, the department hopes to broaden students’ perspectives and confidence.
