Tunghai University Opens Industrial Collaboration and Talent Center “Champ Home”

On March 2, Tunghai University held the grand opening ceremony for its innovation community-- Champ Home Industrial Collaboration and Talent Center. The university remodeled an old garden dormitory building on campus to make the ‘Champ Home’ a station for local enterprises. Together they will promote industry-academia collaboration as well as talent cultivation program.
The Champ Home grand opening was witnessed by Chairman Chi-Hong Tseng of Tunghai Board of Trustee, President Mao-Jiun Wang, Director-General Ming-Huang Chen of Central Taiwan Science Park, and business representatives, including Target Sourcing Services-Taiwan and Li & Fung (Trading) Limited. Board members of Tunghai University, senior management, as well as professors and students of collaborating departments (Industrial Design, International Business, Industrial Engineering and Enterprise Informatics, and Information Management) also attended to show their supports.

The Director-General Ming-Huang Chen of Central Taiwan Science Park praised the beautiful environment surrounding the Champ House. He anticipated that the collaborations carried out at Tunghai University will become great examples for future industry-academia programs. Tunghai University has been actively working with the local industry. The Central Taiwan Science Park administration will take Tunghai’s experience and apply to other areas under its management.
Board Chairman Chi-Hong Tseng thanked President Wang’s effort and devotion in revitalizing the university campus, especially in encouraging startups and planning of friendly-campus. The Chairman is expecting the industry-academic collaboration will bring greater energy into the campus, benefiting more students.

Tunghai President Mao-Jiun Wang also thanked the businesses for their donation in remodeling the buildings. The Champ Home will not only be the center for industrial collaboration, talent cultivation, and innovation community, but also an inspiration for Tunghai’s long-term development. It will certainly create a common winning goal for the university, the faculty and students, and the industry.
Foreseeing the needs for multi-disciplinary talents in the age of globalization and supporting Tunghai’s talent training directions, the local enterprises have been making donations to Tunghai since 2015. The amount of over ten million NT dollars has been used for Tunghai’s talent fund and freshmen scholarships, cultivating administration and educational staffs, helping students understand more about the global business environment, experiencing international trade, and doing career internships.

International Business Dept. for industrial internship
