To promote a low-carbon sustainable environment, the US initiated Fulbright Program has been organizing tree planting activities in campuses since 2016. The decades-long tree planting tradition in Tunghai Unversity serves as a natural match for the Fulbright initiative. This year, Fulbright alumna Asst. Prof. Yi-Chi Chang personally donated a Buddhist Pine (Podocarpus macrophyllus) to symbolize a new hope of the project taking root in Tunghai University.
Fulbright Taiwan Executive Director Dr. Randall NaDeau makes his remarks
Tunghai Vice President Chia-Chung Chan thanks Fulbright Taiwan for initiating the activity, and the university faculty for supporting it. Besides benefitting the campus environment, the activity also signifies Fulbright's support to the bilateral cooperation between Taiwan and the United States.
Dr. Randall NaDeau says that being a former Dean of Tunghai International College, he is deeply attached to the University. He hopes to encourage more faculty members and students to study in the US through scholarship provided by Fulbright Taiwan and to bring more students from the US to Tunghai.
