 The 2019 Fervent Global Love of Lives Award Ceremony was held on September 24, 2019 at the Affiliated High School of Tunghai University. Nine awardees from China, Indonesia, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, Russia, and Taiwan attend the ceremony in person. Prestigious guests include Former Vice President of Taiwan, Annette Lu, Deputy Mayor of Taichung City, Bruce Linghu, Tunghai President Mao-Jiun Wang, Principal of Tunghai Affiliated High School, Hsing-Neng Chung, and Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation CEO Cui-Hui Chao, Founder Chin-Hua Chou, Chairperson Ying-Lan Kuo, and Vice-chair Chien-Chuan Lai.

Former Vice President Lu, highly welcomed by the students upon arrival, said that every one of the awardees are fighters who have conquered different challenges in their lives and are manifestation of the power of life. Even though there were complaints to God when the defects in the body were discovered, they finally achieved astonishing results with their determination, gifts, and love. Deputy Mayor Linghu thanks Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation for bringing in the proactive and inspiring strength to the society and spreading it around the world. Tunghai President Mao-Jiun Wang cite from the Bible that every person is precious and unique and that God loves everyone. We all should learn to accept the imperfection in ourselves and to find our gifts and talents for developing and contributing our potential to create a better world.

Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation (CTK Foundation) was established in 1997, by Chou Ta-Kuan’s parents, Chou Chin-Hua and Guo Ying-Lan, and supporting friends around the world, to fulfill the final wish of 10-year cancer-fighter Chou Ta-Kuan. The mission of the CTK Foundation is for the promotion of: be nice to yourself--fervently love your life; being nice to others--honor others’ lives; being nice to the earth--safeguard the earth’s life. Up to date, the CTK Foundation has awarded 383 fervent lovers of lives from 64 countries and provided guardians to over 290 thousand children with cancer.

The“Fervent Global Love of Lives Day”declaring 1. Be nice to yourself--Fervently love your life. Greet a wholesome future; 2. Be nice to others--Honor others’ lives. Surge into the hope of great love; 3. Be nice to the earth--Safeguard the earth’s life. Striving for harmonious coexistence has been carried out by the CTK Foundation over the past 22 years. It has been recognized as the Nobel Prize for Life by global media such as CNN, NHK, Yahoo, Youtube, Facebook, and Baidu. In 2019, the Columbia Congress granted the Foundation with the highest national medal. CTK Foundation CEO Chao said that this year, 2723 candidates were recommended for the award and 20 of them received the Fervent Love of Lives Award. Among them, 9 have made their presence at the award ceremony at Taiwan. They are:
Alexey Romanov (Russia), the fingerless pianist; Maria Luisa de Cossío de Gonzales Posada (Peru) for saving numerous street children from drug abuse; Xiao Guan Li (China) for overcoming devastating adversities and making the best of life; Mariusz Kedzierski (Poland) for making amazing pencil sketches though born without hands; Rusidah Badawi (Indonesia), the born-without-forearms photographer; Kareem Waris Olamilekan (Nigeria) for creating paintings that touch the world at a young age of 11; Takuto Koyanagi (Japan) for successfully fighting off autism and expanding his talent in music; Tse Han Chou (Taiwan) for overcoming multiple inborn disadvantages and achieving a colorful life; and Kuo-Hsin Chen (Taiwan) for turning adversity into courage and succeeding in his career as a professional cook.
