On Wednesday, students met with Fulbright ETA scholars Allison Zhou and Sharon Cai to discuss issues relating to pollution and livability. This event was the second of a series of open discussions that the two Fulbright teachers have led here at Tunghai in conjunction with the International College. The topics for this meeting were pollution and livability, which are two very relevant discussion points given the time of year and the global climate status. Students were able to apply what they learned in class to this timely discussion outside of class, as well as stimulate their critical thinking skills and creative problem solving skills with two native English speakers residing in Taichung. A number of our International College students attended the dialogue across three different class years, including one student from the Tunghai Law Department. Attendees were provided pizza and drinks, along with the special opportunity to think critically about how we and our neighbors treat the environment and the effects our behavior have on our quality of life not only in Taiwan but also overseas.
