The awards were presented by Deputy Director-General Yu-Chun Wang of the Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education in a University Career Consultancy Management Conference which took place on August 23. Director Chyuan Perng and Deputy Director Annie Tsai of the Tunghai University Placement and Alumni Office represented Tunghai University. In the meeting, Deputy Director-General Wang acknowledged all universities’ contribution to students’ career guidance.
Director Chyuan Perng of the Tunghai Placement and Alumni Office thanked the Ministry of Education for its support and also gave credit to Tunghai’s President Wang Miao-jun. According to Director Perng, unlike national universities, Tunghai was comparatively short on resources and budget. Under such circumstances, it was actually very difficult for Tunghai to stand out among other universities. Much credit should, therefore, be given to career lecturers, alumni-owned or managed businesses that collaborate with Tunghai, career teachers, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Student Affairs, the Computer Center, Tunghai’s academic departments and colleges, and all units and organizations that collaborate on this effort. He further noted that Deputy Director Annie Tsai had devoted herself to career consultancy for 21 years and had become a role model and mentor for many schools and colleagues. The acknowledgement from the Ministry of Education was just what she deserved.
