Tunghai Recruits International Faculty to Bolster Management Education

In recent years, Tunghai University has been committed to promoting the development of AI programs. To assist enterprises in their innovation transformation and upgrading, the "Industrial Smart-Transformation Center" was established under the College of Management in 2018. On April 13, 2021, six senior professors were recruited as Honorary Chair Professors of the Industrial Smart-Transformation Center.

The six senior professors are former Vice President of National Taiwan University (NTU) Dr. Ming-Jer Tang, former NTU Vice President, Dr. Shu-Hsing Li, former NTU Chair of Department of Accounting, Dr. Rong-Ruey Duh, former Dean of Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, Dr. Chien-fu Lin, former CEO of NTU EMBA, Dr. Chung-Hsing Huang, and Prof. Hsi-hui Chang of Drexel University, USA.

Dr. Ming-Jer Tang is specialized in strategic planning, industrial analysis, technology strategy, and international market entry strategy. Dr. Shu-Hsing Li is specialized in the application of information economics in management accounting, multi-national enterprise price transfer, performance appraisal system, textual analysis and capital market research. Dr. Rong-Ruey Duh has valuable contributions in the teaching and research of accounting and audit judgement, decision behavior, audit guidelines, management accounting and corporate control. Dr. Chien-fu Lin is specialized in economic analysis, econometrics, finance, and empirical accounting. Dr. Chung-Hsing Huang is specialized in service management, business management, and corporate decision-making. Dr. Hsi-hui Chang is specialized in management accounting, accounting information, and data analysis.
Tunghai University President Mao-Jiun Wang thanked the six professors for strengthening Tunghai professional faculty in the service capacity to the local enterprises. He especially thanked the president of FCC Partners, Mr. CY Huang, for his support in funding, experience, and personal connections, which has laid a solid foundation for the AI promotion of Tunghai University. The Tunghai College of Management has recently set up new facilities, such as iPBL classroom, AI computer classroom, EMBA auditorium, innovation workshop, and smart library, to better match the growth of the professional faculty.
Dean of the College of Management, Prof. Horng-Ji Chen, said that the education in management has always been a focal point at Tunghai. Many of our alumni have become crucial members of local companies in central Taiwan. With the six outstanding experienced professors joining, Tunghai will be optimized to assist the companies in central Taiwan for their digital transformation and to enhance the cooperation with the local industry.

The CEO of Tunghai Industrial Smart-Transformation Center, CY Huang, said that the mission of the Center is to equip the managers of local enterprises with the ability to innovate, and to realize the value of digital transformation. He believed that the six professors would help bring effective and successful transformation and to achieve the goal of sustainable development for the industry.
Tunghai Industrial Smart-Transformation Center has set up the “CENTER” alliance with 29 industrial zones in the central Taiwan region. Furthermore, an alliance named “Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance, SIA” targeting the Southeast Asian market is under preparation. Following that, Southeast-Asia Impact University (SIU) will be formed to forge a complete ecosystem for the Taiwan industry to better explore the market.
