Founded in 1955, this is the only comprehensive private university in Taiwan that provides education from kindergarten to doctoral programs.
The Times Higher Education World University Impact Rankings 2024 have just been released, and only seven universities in Taiwan made it into the world's top 200. Among them, Tunghai University has advanced into the top 100 globally — and has been ranked first among Taiwan's non-medical universities for five consecutive years.

The two campuses cover a total area of 133 hectares, featuring over 100 acres of lush greenery within the forest campus and offering thousands of picturesque ecological landscapes. Together with the iconic Luce Memorial Chapel—a renowned landmark of central Taiwan—and teaching buildings that harmoniously blend traditional and modern architectural styles, Tunghai University provides the largest per capita living and learning space for students in Taiwan.
Located in the heart of Taichung City, the campus offers convenient access to public transportation, with free bus rides within a 10-kilometer radius for both students and Taichung residents.
