Tunghai University boasts world-class faculty, with 6 professors from the College of Science and the College of Engineering listed in the "Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings (1960-2021)," including four who were also recognized in the "2021 Annual Scientific Impact Rankings."
According to Chin-Yin Huang, Dean of Tunghai University's College of Engineering, the THE rankings evaluate universities based on five criteria: teaching, research, citations, international perspective, and industry income. He emphasized the increasing demand for engineering talent in the coming decades and highlighted the success of Tunghai's "Smart Manufacturing Class" within their "Spotlight Project." Huang also attributed Tunghai University's strong performance to its comprehensive learning environment that encompasses humanities, social sciences, and arts. The "Smart Manufacturing Class" is established to introduce innovative courses in next-generation smart manufacturing, including agile manufacturing inspired by Tesla.
