Tunghai University-News--“Together in Diversity” -- 2016 Chinese New Year Gala
President (Proxy) Dr. Cheng-Tung Lin hosted the event and greeted all guests with a happy new year. Honored guests Education Counselor Mr. Yuri Yao-Tsung Chih from Ministry of Education and Chief Secretary Mr. Liang-Ming Chang from Overseas Community Affairs Council joined the gala to deliver their gentle wishes to all international students at Tunghai University. Mr. Chih also encouraged the students to stay in Taiwan after graduation no matter for further study or for work. Chief Secretary Mr. Chang indicated that over the years, more than 100 thousands overseas Chinese have graduated from universities in Taiwan and any of them have great achievements after returning to their home countries. Through the efforts of the Overseas Community Affairs Council, overseas Chinese students now can work in Taiwan after graduation from a university in Taiwan.
Excellent performances presented by the international student association, Chinese student association and overseas Chinese student association made an enjoyable evening to all the participants. There were cheering and applauses throughout the evening. The event created a happy beginning of the year 2016 as well as a festive anticipation for the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays.
