Renowned contemporary artist Huang Teng-Hui unveiled his 2025 artistic calendar in a grand event held at his alma mater, Tunghai University. During the launch, Huang showcased his latest masterpiece, Starlight, which not only highlights his achievements in the field of visual arts but also conveys his deep gratitude toward Tunghai University. This calendar is a collaborative creation by Huang and 12 esteemed poets, weaving together paintings and poetry to offer a unique fusion of visual and emotional experiences.

Liao Jen-Yi described the collection as "a feast of landscapes that transcend from the visual to the spiritual." He further remarked, "Each of Huang Teng-Hui’s paintings boldly moves with vibrant colors, radiating the brilliance of deep emotional light, illuminating the entire cosmos."

To further express his commitment, Huang donated 300 calendars for a charity sale, with all proceeds dedicated to advancing Tunghai University’s educational initiatives. Through this gesture, he hopes to inspire others to contribute to the university and collectively support its future development.

At the end of the press conference, Huang Teng-Hui presented a rose plant to Tunghai University President Chang Kuo-En as a gesture of his deep affection for his alma mater. He explained that in Christianity, the rose symbolizes purity and true love, representing Jesus’ love for humanity. Drawing from this symbolism, Huang decided to align the meaning of the rose with Tunghai University’s educational philosophy. He announced plans to invest NT$2 million to create a beautiful rose garden on the university campus, further embodying his love and support for his alma mater.
The rose garden will be designed by renowned designer Chang Ching-Ping, aiming to infuse Tunghai University’s campus with greater elements of art and nature. Huang Teng-Hui shared that the inspiration for the rose garden comes from the dream garden in The Little Prince. The garden will feature 6,000 rose bushes, adding an elegant artistic ambiance to the campus while conveying the Christian values of purity and love represented by the roses. Once completed, this rose garden will make Tunghai University the first institution in Taiwan to combine a chapel with a rose garden, symbolizing the perfect union of art and faith. It will also add a rich layer of artistic and cultural significance to the university’s upcoming 70th-anniversary celebrations.
