Stanford University released its World’s Top 2% Scientists 2022. Six professors of Tunghai University College of Science and College of Engineering were listed as top scientists for career-long impact (1960-2021), among them four were also recognized as top scientists of the year 2021.
The list is published annually according to Scopus author profile and citation impact data, identifying the world’s top 2% scientists out of over 9 million scientists. This year, six THU faculty were listed on the career-long impact (1960-2021) and six were listed on the top-impact 2021. The career-long impactors are Chemical & Materials Engineering Department Professor Jo-Shu Chang, Electrical Engineering Dept. Chi-Feng Chen, Industrial Engineering Dept. Bing-Teng Chang, Chemical & Material Engineering Dept. Cheng-Yu Lin, Industrial Engineering Dept. Guo-Ping Lin and Information Engineering Dept. Chu-Hsing Lin. The 2021 yearly impactors are Chemical & Material Engineering Dept. Jo-Shu Chang, Industrial Engineering Dept. Guo-Ping Lin, Chemistry Dept. Di-Yen Wang, Chemical & Material Engineering Dept. Hong-Wei Yen, Chemical & Material Engineering Dept. Cheng-Yu Lin and Electrical Engineering Dept. Chi-Feng Chen.
The THU high impactors’ research fields cover bio-technology, nano-technology, information & communication technology, applied physics and engineering. Honorable Chair Professor, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Jo-Shu Chang has been recognized as a high-citation scientist in 2020 and 2021. He is listed number one in Taiwan in the Biology and Biochemistry field in Research.com. Professors Chu-Hsing Lin and Bing-Teng Chang have won research project supports multiple times and Prof. Hong-Wei Yen has won several outstanding publication awards. According to Tunghai University, young professors are demonstrating strong potentials in their research performances. EE Dept. professor Chi-Feng Chen has been recognized as a top 2% scientist for two consecutive years; IE Dept. professor Guo-Ping Lin was granted Outstanding Young Industrial Engineer Award by the China Industrial Engineering Association in 2021; Chemistry Dept. Asso. Professor Di-Yen Wang was granted Young Scholar Research Award by Academia Sinica in 2021.
Tunghai University President Guo-En Chang congratulated the THU faculty members for being recognized in their research work. He encouraged all faculty to work together to boost the performance and impacts of Tunghai in engineering, information & communications, and bio-technologies.
