Tunghai University joins hands with Carrefour to prepare for industrial transformation. By signing a "Memorandum of Cooperation on Cultivating Sustainable Agriculture and Health Talents", the two parties will leverage the power of CSR+USR to cultivate green-collar talents, making Tunghai University the first in Taiwan to cultivate sustainable animal-farming talents together with an enterprise. In the future, the two parties will co-develop milk products with "Animal Welfare Mark” and jointly invest in the cultivation of animal welfare management and audit talents.
The Memorandum of Cooperation on Cultivating Sustainable Agriculture and Health Talents signed by Tunghai University and Carrefour includes promotion of sustainable agriculture, cultivation of healthcare talents, promotion of animal welfare, periodical bilateral technology exchanges, exploration of cooperative research projects, and co-organization of industrial seminars and forums. In response to the future industrial trend, the two parties will also invest in the cultivation of animal welfare management and audit talents. The integration of Tunghai’s professional education in animal science and Carrefour’s entrepreneur management expertise will significant add value to the students of Tunghai University and increase their career competitiveness.

Tunghai University President Guo-En Chang said that the traditional agriculture, animal husbandry and food industries are facing transformation challenges. Through the industry-university cooperation with Carrefour, Tunghai University College of Agriculture and Health will integrate the resources of various departments to facilitate both theory and practice in cultivating students’ holistic development in sustainable agriculture. In addition, students are also encouraged to invest in emerging industries such as animal well-being managers, senior life planners, and green diet management, so as to meet future employment trends.
Carrefour General Manager Chun-Chao Wang said that Tunghai University is one of the few schools in Taiwan that has a complete range of agricultural production to follow-up food management. Through the cooperation, Carrefour hopes to assist in the upgrading of the agricultural and animal husbandry industry, and jointly cultivate a new force for industrial transformation in Taiwan.
