In his remarks, Vice Premier Jong-Chin Shen said that the number of TCSA participating companies has amounted to 364 with an accumulated annual turnover of around 145% of the national GDP in 2019. It is a highly influential and widely recognized award. This year, the jury reached 668 people, making the competition much more challenging and worthwhile.

The "Sustainability Model University Award" emphasizes the comprehensive performance of universities in sustainable development, focusing on demonstrating the overall influence in governance, society, environment and partnerships.
President Wang stated that Tunghai has set up a university social responsibility strategy development committee and an office of institutional research to oversee its USR and sustainability mandate. The establishment of the interdisciplinary innovation college with cloud innovation, senior education, ecology and environment also signifies our efforts in sustainable development of the university.
Tunghai University has been recognized in its sustainability efforts in 2020, including a notable progress in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings as number one among all private universities in Taiwan, winning the first prize of USR Outstanding Co-prosperity Proposal granted by the Global View Magazine, and the best green campus award among private universities granted by the CommonWealth Magazine.

Awardees of the 2020 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award
In the category of USR Best Sustainability Project Awards, Tunghai won with projects in community senior support system and in a mobile surveillance network for air-pollution and food safety monitoring, respectively.
